Part-Time Hifz Teacher Assistant

Job Description and General Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, guide, and administer the Hifz class as a role model for students.
  • Ensure students recite with proper Tajweed and teach correct recitation.
  • Conduct student evaluations and provide routine updates on student progress.
  • Maintain positive relationships with School Administration, Parents, Students, and Co-instructors.
  • Teach Islamic etiquette and manners.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a Hafiz.
  • Proficient in Tajweed.
  • Previous experience as a Hifz instructor in the U.S., Ijazah preferred.
  • Experience working with children aged 8 years and older.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to effectively communicate with children.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong Islamic character with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • In-depth understanding of Islamic etiquette and behavior.
  • Familiarity with challenges faced by youth.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Google Drive and Google Sheets.

Compensation:
Salary and benefits will be governed by the personnel policy of An-Noor Quran Academy. All staff members will be on temporary employment for the first 180 days, with annual employment reviews. An-Noor Quran Academy offers competitive compensation.

Part-Time Elementary / Middle School Teacher

An-Noor Qur’an Academy (ANQA) is currently seeking a Part-Time Elementary/Middle School Teacher to teach Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science during weekdays. This position is available at the Islamic Association of Raleigh location.

General Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching Math and Science, or ELA and Social Studies, depending on the subject area. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating a classroom environment that fosters students’ learning abilities, creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative skills.
  • Working with individual students to identify their strengths, and weaknesses, and provide necessary support.
  • Performing administrative duties such as student evaluation, routine progress updates, and addressing disciplinary issues.
  • Maintaining professional conduct and building positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues in accordance with Islamic teachings and US practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Qualified to teach Math and Science or ELA and Social Studies in compliance with the NC Standard Course of Study.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Math and Science or ELA and Social Studies teacher in the U.S.
  • Experience working with children ages 5 and older.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Islamic character with excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
  • Sound understanding and application of Islamic etiquette, manners, and appropriate behavior.
  • Ability to effectively engage and relate to students of all ages, as well as adults.
